China National Silk Imp.& Exp.Corp.( CNSIEC) is a large state-owned
foreign trade enterprise and one of the oldest silk trading companies
with about 420 employees.
The corporation engages in export business of cocoons, raw silk,, silk fabrics, silk garments as well as products made of rayon, synthetic fibre and pure silk mixed with other fibres. It handles import business of chemical materials, synthetic filament, machinery and dye stuffs needed in silk production. The corporation is also involved in the import and export of other products, domestic commercial activities, warehousing , transportation and real estate business. The corporation attaches great importance to cooperation with foreign counterparts in forms of joint ventures, cooperative projects, processing with provided materials, soramples or patterns and compensation trade. It also offers consulting services and conducts technological exchanges with other countries. In recent years, CNSIEC has further quickened her pace of reform in an effort to transform the corporation into a large mutlinational, industrial business group. Up to now, CNSIEC has set up 15 branch offices and 40 joint ventures in China and 13 subsidiaries or representative offices in the world's major silk consumption countries and regions.
