At present Orient Group has already possessed finance operation authority granted by the National Bureau of Foreign Exchange Administration;possessed foreign economy and trade authority granted by China Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economy Cooperation; possesed national Class A architectural engineering design authority and construction supervision authority granted by China Ministry of Construction; possessed port administrative affair's operation and management authority, which is the largest shareholder of China Port of Jinzhou; possessed insurance operation authority, which is the important shardholder of China Xinhua Life Insurance Inc. Through 18 years' development, Orient Group profoundly grasped the economic characteristics and culture features of China, creating complete set of operation and management system and enterprise working pattern with Orient distinctiveness. During the period of new development, Orient Group will continuously carry out the operation policy of"balanced development between property operation and capital working", providing cooperative bridge for foreign firms entering into Chinese market, contributing its share to the conformity and harmonization of Chinese and international capital markets, trade markets technique markets, information markets as well as management markets. Orient Group Inc. consists of 13 member firms of Orient Group, which is the first enterprise, in Heilongjiang Provence, whose stock has been publicly issued and listed; is also one of the first listed Share A enterprises in Shanghai Stock Exchange; and in 1996 has been selected as DowJones China 88 Index share as well as Shanghai Stock Exchange ShangStock 30 Index sample share enterprise; having become one off the larger enterprises which reflect the relative indexes of the situation of China economic development. In 1997, the Corporation implemented property reorganization, replacing relevant property with the promoter's share Orient Group Industrial Inc. laying stress on the strategic position of such four key domains as real estate, economy and trade, high technique domain as well as finance.

In 1994, Mr.Zhang was awarded as one of China's "Top Ten Outstanding Entrepreneurs of Non-State-Owned Companies". He is a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Standing Committee of China National Youth Association.
Mr.Zhang was born in 1954 in Harbin, the capital of North China's HeiLongJiang Province. He received his bachelor degree of civil engineering from Harbin Architecture & Engineering University. Now he is studying for his master degree of business administration in Harbiin Industry University. |

Mr.Zhang Hongwei founded his Orient Enterprise Group Corproation in 1988 and now is the Chairman and President of Orient Group Inc., China's first non-state-owned company to get listed on either Shangahai Exchange or Shenzhen Excahnge. Mr.Zhang is also the Chairman of Jinzhou Port Group Co. and Orient Tianju Food Ltd of which Orient Group Inc. has the majority interests. The success of Orient Group Inc. has been recognised as a model example of China's mechanism reform of non-state-owned enterprises.
