The breeding of White Fan Duck has such advantages as short term, save feed, good and quick economic results, for the duck of 10 weeks may weigh above 2.5kg and the proportion of meat and feed is generally 3.1:1, and the in crease of 1kg in weight does not exhaust not more than 3.3kg of feed. Therefore, it has arather high rate of transformation in feed.
Ninghua is a mountainous, agricultural county, located at the subtropical region with mild climate and rich full water resources, which has provided good geographical conditions and material basis for the development and setup of a breeding base with the capacity of one million white French fan duck. The yearly sale of white French fan duck amounts to over 300,000 head in Ninghua County alone. Besides, live ducks have been sold to such places as Sanming, Yongan, Xiamen,Fuzhou and Guandong, the yearly sale volume amounting to over 700,000 bead.
