Honors and Awards
[Invitation from the People's Hall] [Letter from George Bush] On June 18th of 1994, Chen Wei took part in the National Exhibition of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy attended by more than 400 writers and artists, and international entrepreneurs. Mr. Chen exhibited five of his master works and gave live demonstrations of his unique painting methods. The works of Chen Wei received towering praise and an invitation from the People's Great Hall to paint a wall-sized mural painting, "Soul of the Yellow River." This masterwork now hangs in the Office of the Standing Committe of the National People's Congress and the Office of the Chairman of the Congress, the only work of art of all the painters in the event. This great honor from the People's Great Hall inspired Mr. Wei to paint a new, larger and more visually intense version of the painting which now hangs in the National People's Congress. This masterpiece can be viewed online in the masterworks gallery.
