Grand Buddha Temple Grand Buddha Temple in Xinchang County was first built during the early years of the reign of Yonghe of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317- 420 AD). In the temple there are a large stone statue of Buddha, 24. 42 metres high, carved on the cliff in the Southern Dynasty(420-589 AD) and over one thousand well preserved carving statues of Buddha in small size and other inscriptions of rock carving. Grand Buddha Temple, surrounding by marvelous mountains and bright water, is a place of historical relics with mysterious legend.
