| A Mountain Most Depicted and Praised in Ancient Literary Works
The supreme magnificence of Mt. Tai had been extolled by
lots of historical great figures, such as Confucius, Li Bai, Du Fu
and so on. From Confucius time up till the present age, countless poems and proses which depict Mt. Tai in praise have been
written. A number of novels on Mount Tai have become popular
ever since the Wei Dynasty. In almost all the famous classical
novels such as "Water Margin", "Pilgrimage to the West",
"The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "Jin Ping Mei"
descriptions of Mt. Tai can also be found. |

| A Museum Of Art and Culture
The Dai Temple at the foot of Mt. Tai is one of the three
foremost extant palacial structures best-preserved in China today. A large mural "The God of Mt. Tai on an Inspection
Tour" in the Hall of Celestial Gifts is an ancient piece of art renowned both at home and abroad. The Bixia Temple, on top of
the mountain, lofty and splendid in green and gold, consists of a
group of building and looks like an imperial palace in heaven.
Forty painted Arhat Statues in Lingyan Temple were highly praised by Mr. Liang Qichao of Qing Dynasty as "the best of their
kind within China." |
