East China City Promotes Tourism
(HEFEI) Xuancheng City in east China's Anhui
Province has recently promoted six tourism routes to the outside
for the first time.
Xu Demei, deputy director of the Xuancheng Tourism Bureau said
that the six tourism routes include the former residence of a
cultural celebrity, patriotic education bases, and natural scenery.
The Xuancheng local government has made great efforts in recent
years to promote tourism. During the 1996-2000 period, Xuancheng
received nearly 93 million tourists and 400 million yuan (48.19
million U.S. dollars) of tourism revenue.
The city now has over 10,000 tourism staff and 12 tourism agencies.
