Ninth China Tourism Fair Ends in Chengdu
CHENGDU, June 25 -- The ninth China Tourism Fair closed in this capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province Sunday, concluding 30,000 letters of intents with a transaction value of about 560 million yuan.
More than 140,000 people attended the fair which has a record of 2,000 booths put up by 3,000 enterprises.
E-commerce was the highlight of the fair. Over 23,000 tourist firms in 10 provinces have been connected with the national public commerce network.
The World Tourism Organization predicts that China is to become the world largest tourist destination and the fourth source of tourists by 2020.
