China's First Provincial Tourism Plan Approved
BEIJING, September 14 -- The Jiangxi overall tourism
development plan, China's first provincial tourism plan, was
approved here Thursday.
The plan places emphasis on ecological protection and
sustainable development and features local ceramics, Taoism and
revolutionary history.
"The plan was drawn out from the view of the Yangtze economic
area and gives Jiangxi a vital role in regional interactive
relations.
It is just a trial," said an official with China National
Tourism Administration.
The plan depends on the research of over 500 tourism spots in
Jiangxi and some 5,000 questionnaires from visitors as well as
historical data and analysis.
